The backup MX service provided by Netxtreme gives you 2 separete MX servers, located in idfferent data centre, using separate network pathways and backbone connections, providing full redundancy across the service at all times, 24/7.
In the event that your main mail server is offline, mail will be directed into one or more of our backup MX servers, where it will be retained for up to 2 days waiting for your main mail server to come back online, at which point delivery onto your mail server of all emails awaiting your receipt is automatically conducted.
The service is in effect a redundant standby service incases you have issues with your only mail server and it is extremely suitable for office mail servers using Streamyx / Broadband / Wireless / ISDN / Leased Lines / Satellite due to unstable connections.
